Club Activities During the Year 2007!
The cruising page for the MYC.
Page last updated 01/31/08

This site is designed to keep yacht club members informed about the club non-cruise activities during the year.

Relay for Life

The South Snohomish County Relay For Life goals for 2007 were 40 teams with donations of $130,000. As of the day of the relay there were 40 teams registered and as of 6 June they had received over $132,000 in donations. Both goals achieved – great.

MYC (even though we were the top fund raising team last year at $8,157) set a goal of $6,000 for 2007. As of 6 June we have exceeded $9,000 in donations … CONGRATULATIONS MYC. Way to go!!!

For all those club members who were there for the Opening Ceremony and the survivor’s lap, thank you. For all those club members who were there for the Luminaria Ceremony, thank you. For all those club members who were there for the Closing Ceremony and the first lap of the 2008 Relay, thank you. For all those who walked the track, lap after lap, thank you. And for all those MYC members who participated in any manner, thank you.

Let me sum up MYC’s involvement in the 2007 Relay by saying BRAVO ZULU. Now for those of you who do not understand the significance of the phrase “bravo zulu” – come on down for the June meeting and I will explain what it means. Once again – “BZ” MYC.

Gene Dvornick, Team Leader
